Broadway Academy.

Assalamualaikum dudes and dudettes.

Okay see the pictures above? They are super cool and awesome! I dont care if you dont like it but I really do. If I could drive, I would straightly go buy it now. Seriously man. Now I totally MUST get one! Please click to enlarge.

First and foremost this post totally got nothing to do with the boots. I dont know why but I feel very eager to type right now. Macam jakun sikit. But who cares this is my blog so please shut up. I just came back from Istana Budaya and kinda exhausted. Phew! Truth to be told, it worths the 40 bucks. Alhamdulillah.

Tadaa. This is me at Istana Budaya. I was thinking about smart and casual outfit so I just mix and match my clothes and all and it turned out to be like this. Just a simple one. And, the shirt is Aisyah's. Heh.

I was planning to go there by train with the others (Nicholas, Liyana, Hanim) but what to do, I did the Malay Promise (Janji Melayu :p) , I woke up at 12 by the sound of my ringtone, which is when Hanim called me and started swearing when I told her I just woke up. Heh sorry :P

So I arrived there around 1.30 pm and we had brunch at the cafe inside IB. :)

Okay this is the poster ; Dream girls.

Well Ive been to Istana Budaya to watch theatre before, like 4 or 5 or whatever times I dont really remember. I watched Natrah, Cuci The Musical, Sri Mersing, etc. But what makes this Dream Girls show just now different from the other theatres Ive watched is that I got the chance to the pre-talk with the director and actors plus a backstage pass!

This is like an opportunity of a lifetime. The talk before the show was a blast! We had Joanna Bassey the director , Kris Coleman from Broadway, and Deena from Malaysian Idol. Seeing them on stage, I feel much inspired. These people got high achievements and somehow I feel proud considering the fact that they could work together although they came from different country.

Anyway, I was awe-strucked by the beautiful voice by Deena when she sang live in front of us. Karyan almost cried when she heard her voice. LOL. I must admit, She's gorgeous . And quite funny. Above all, Mr Haziq (my practical teacher) was the luckiest one! To our surprise, Deena pointed out to him as he was singing through the song and ask him to join her on stage. I was like 'what?' She could not be serious. Mr Haziq was being sporting and up he went on the stage. They sang together and lame me, I didnt know the song -.- okay gotta ask him later. Anyway, congratulations Mr Haziq. I dont know what got into me but I keep teasing him all the way with the Deena thing. Oh please dont get annoyed with me Mr Haziq :P

Then the show started. I was quite pissed that we got the upper-part seat. Believe me, when it comes to theatre, you got to grab those front seats or the you-can-see-the-actors-teeth seat. Like seriously. Hey we're students, I dont care whether the front seats are like hundred bucks worth punya seats but please lemme seat there. I remembered watching sitting the first row of seats, it was Natrah at that time and the show really feels alive. I even cried. See? Our seats just now was quite okay but to me, its just too far away. No Yay (!) for us. Well ANYWAY, stop with the grumbling, lets continue.

Then the show went on. I must admit that sometimes I could hardly understands what the actors say and its very dissapointing. Gosh I really have to brush up on that.

But on top of that, I had fun. Why not share it with you guys? Okay basically Dream Girls is about a trio of women—Effie, Deena and Lorrell who have formed a promising girl group called The Dreamettes. At a talent competition, they are discovered by an ambitious manager named Curtis (is it how its spelled?) whatever. He offers them to become the back-up singers for headliner James “Thunder” Early (i think its from Eddie Murphy). As far as I could remember la. Curtis gradually takes control of the girls’ look and sound, eventually giving them their own shot in the spotlight as The Dreams. That spotlight, however, begins to narrow in on Deena, finally pushing the less attractive Effie out altogether.

Though the Dreams become a crossover phenomenon, they soon realize that the cost of fame and fortune may be higher than they ever imagined. Yeah and they went through all the conflicts and end up with a happy ending :) The Dreamettes are together back on stage :)

It was a musical theatre so there were loads of singing and dancing altogether. The dresses are quite ravishing and I was so amazed that the actresses could change the clothes in a blink of an eye. The dancers were spectacular and the it was very invigorating to see the actresses and actors to sing and act at the same time. I wish I could be one of them! It seems like the glee cast kan? Nice one.

The change of sets and lights made everybody stays agog.

After having like 3 hours show, we lined up for the signatures. I took picture with Tony Eusoff! Be jealous :P

Okay this one is especially for Asyraf as he requested this from me.

Asyraf : "get me the hottest actress punya signature"

Me : -____-

he was
being so gatal. but then i thought, why not kan? so I borrowed the picture book from Nash and lined up for the signatures. Here you go Asyraf.

Then off we went to the backstage! The stage manager led us to all parts of the sets. He explained about the movement of the sets and the maintainence and yeah, I asked few questions too. Okay fine not " a few ". There were quite a lot of questions I asked, including Mikal and Nicholas. Dont mind us, we were just too eager at that time. Heh.

Me and Helena had dinner at the IB Cafe while waiting for my dad to come. We had a nice talk and a fabulous end for the day. And on my way back home, I texted teacher Adelin to apologize that I didnt stand the chance to say goodbye to her before she left. I was quite sad because it may be the last time I saw her ever again ;'( I was lining up for the signatures when she went back just now. Anyway, incase you dont know (ofc you dont) , Teacher Adelina is a practical English teacher at my school for the last 2 weeks. Frankly speaking, I love her! She's sporting and I feel comfortable when Im chatting or talking with her. But sadly, she's leaving. Geesh, time flew so fast.

Okay its already 3.05 and I think I better get some shut eye. Will continue later :)

Cheers!
